GymnasticsGymnastics should be a sport for all ages and all abilities! As such, here at Axis we have split our classes so we can ensure that you and/or your child are put in the appropriate level class to suit your age and ability. It does not matter if you are a complete beginner or if you are a previous gymnast, we welcome all people to come and participate in our sessions. Our sessions are split into Levels 1 to 4 based on both age and ability. Each session is then split by ability within the group, so we can accommodate beginners as well as more advanced gymnasts in each level

All of our sessions will allow gymnasts the opportunity to learn a variety of gymnastics moves (from shapes and rolls for a beginner, to back flicks and somersaults for the more advanced) on our sprung floor which is comfortably matted. Sessions will also use a wide range of gymnastics apparatus including bars, beam, vault, trampettes, trampolines, double mini trampoline and more. Gymnastics is always fun and always different, so it is fresh and interesting each session. For our Level 3 and 4 gymnasts we also incorporate the disciplines of Trampolining, Double Mini Trampoline and Tumbling into the gymnastics program to produce varied and exciting sessions.

GymnasticsDuring our sessions we will be following the British Gymnastics RISE Award Scheme which tracks progress and awards certificates/medals for achievement to help keep gymnasts motivated and reward personal achievements.

Our gymnastics classes are split into the following groups, ages are a guideline and may vary slightly within classes. Please see the separate Pre-school pages for timetables, information and prices:

  • Adventurers
    • Pre-school session aimed at the younger pre-schooler
    • For ages 18 months upwards

  • Preschool Gymnastics
    • Pre-school session aimed at the older, more independent pre-schooler
    • For ages 3-4 year olds

Our after-school gymnastics sessions are available for gymnasts aged from school age 4 upwards, and operate from 4.00pm onwards throughout the year. Younger gymnasts and beginners will start within our Level 1 classes, and generally progress towards Level 4 as they become older and more proficient within the sport.

It is important that you are in the correct class for your current ability so that you can progress and learn at an appropriate rate, as well as receive the correct level of support from our qualified and passionate coaching team.

Please contact us via email to complete an Expression of Interest Form. Once a space becomes available during one of your indicated times of availability, our admin team will be in contact with you to book a taster session. You only pay for this one-off session to start with and there is no commitment to join afterwards. These sessions must be booked in advance as we strictly limit the numbers in our sessions. Once you have joined as a member, sessions are paid for on a rolling monthly direct debit.
